Welcome to Abnaki District.
The Abnaki District is part of the Pine Tree
Council, Boy Scouts of America. It serves the cities and towns of central Maine
including: Andover, Auburn, Bethel, Buckfield, Dixfield, Durham, Greene,
Greenwood, Gilead, Hanover, Hartford, Hebron, Leeds, Lewiston, Lisbon, Lisbon
Falls, Mechanic Falls, Mexico, Minot, Newry, Norway, Otisfield, Oxford, Paris,
Peru, Poland, Rumford, Sabattus, South Paris, Turner, Wales, West Paris and
Woodstock.
The Abnaki District serves over 50 units including Cub Scout Packs, Boy Scout
Troops and Venture Crews. That represents approximately 1,200 young men and
women (Venture Crews are coed).
Cub Scouts is for boys beginning in first grade and ending in fifth grade. Cub
Scouts graduate to Webelos, which are fourth and fifth graders.
Boy Scouts begins with boys that are 11 years of age in fifth grade and ends
with young men that reach the age of 18.
Venture Crews are for young men and young women ages 14-20.
